Host families in Hambrug

You will be warmly welcomed by one of our German host families. We work with over 50 households in Hamburg and many have been hosting our students for many years. All families live in good areas of Hamburg and may be reached with public transport (on average 20 min. / max. 45 min.) from the school. You will be the only guest of your nationality with the host family and may thus maximize your language skills.

Single room

In every family you get a single room equipped with at least one chair, table, bed and wardrobe. You will also receive towels and bedlinen by your host family. You will, of course, have use of bathroom, kitchen and laundry.

Bed & breakfast or halfboard?

You can book host families with or without meals. You may choose between with breakfast or halfboard. Halfboard with a host family includes breakfast and a warm meal, which is mostly in the evenings with your host family.

Your leisure with Colón

Colón offers students a wide range of free time activities. This includes frequent trips to Hamburg museums and attractions and also day trips to Berlin, Bremen, Lübeck, Sylt and more destinations. In cooperation with the German Metropolis cinema, we offer students a monthly movie night. You can also get to know many students and former students every Thursday at the Stammtisch.

Arrival / Departure

Arrival day is always the Sunday and departure day is Saturday.

Visa

Entering Germany from EU countries requires a valid personal identity card. Entering Germany from all other countries requires a visa. For more information please click here.
