Certificate A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1

Every level finishes with a final Colón test (included in the course price) for which a Colón certificate can be issued for an additional fee of €5.

In addition to our own exams, we also offer the following internationally recognized certificates:

  • Level A1
  • Level A2
  • Level B1
  • Level B2
  • Level C1

Our Colón certificates (Level B2 and above) can be used as evidence of competence  in the German language for preparatory colleges for German universities of applied sciences and universities. The exams can also be taken externally. The official exams are sent to Colón by the company WBT in Frankfurt – our teachers do not receive them until exam day. Exam evaluation also takes place in Frankfurt and takes around 4 – 6 weeks.

Certificate B1

The Deutsch B1 Certificate is evidence that learners of German can use the language competently in a variety of daily situations and familiar business settings. In concrete terms, this means that they are linguistically competent in the German language in all situations which are important for them to use the language, both during their stay in a German speaking country, as well as in their own country. As the Certificate B1 is the official final exam on completion of the ‘Themen neu Zertifikatband’ volume, our Level B1 course automatically prepares students for the German Certificate!

Certificate B2

Deutsch B2 is a certificate of qualification for intermediate level B2 of the European language certificate. It verifies that the language learner is able to confidently and competently use the German language in almost all daily and work situations where spoken communication is necessary. In doing so the learner achieves a level of linguistic proficiency that equates with Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Certificate C1

Deutsch C1 tests general German language competence at a very advanced level. The exam is suitable for adults who use English socially and professionally or academically in their studies. At C1 level you can express yourself spontaneously and fluently. You are familiar with idiomatic phrases and can vary your style of language as appropriate. You can use the language with a high degree of grammatical accuracy.

THE EXAM DAY

The exams consist of a written exam from 9.00 – 13.00, which is taken as a group, and an individual oral exam from 13.30 on.
