Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival

The Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival has been celebrated with a firework show over the outer Alster (Außenalster) since 1968.

The Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival will be celebrated for the 45th time in 2012. The very popular firework show starts at 22.30 on Tuesday 19 May. The festival also comprises a wide range of events and activities which take place during the day in the lead-up to the fireworks. As in past years the restaurants along Lange Reihe, the main culinary drag in St. Georg, will be buzzing both before and after the fireworks.
