Hamburger Kunsthalle (Art museum)

The Hamburger Kunsthalle contains one of the most impressive art collections in Germany. The total exhibit area is over 13,000 m². The focus of the collection ist he 1800s. There are also departments for old masters and Modern Art. Contemporary art is housed in a separate building. The Kupferstichkabinett (Copper Plate Engraving Collection) is made up of over 100,000 pieces.
