Language study trips to Germany | Learning German as a foreign language

At Colón, you’ll find German courses for different language levels and learning objectives. The courses are based on language levels A1 to C2. Depending on availability, you can choose between intensive courses, evening courses, small groups and one-to-one tuition.

If you already have some knowledge of German, the online placement test will help you find the right course for your current language level.

If you need accommodation during your stay, you can book this alongside your German course. A transfer from Hamburg Airport or the railway station is also available on request.

You can also practise your German and get to know other course participants outside of class. Colón organises regular leisure activities. The programme also includes a regular get-together on Thursday evenings. This allows you to combine your German course with shared experiences and discover Hamburg from a new perspective.

If you are staying in Germany for longer than 90 days and wish to attend an intensive language course comprising at least 18 teaching hours per week, you will usually need a language course visa.

Colón will assist you by providing a confirmation of enrolment and advising you on course selection, accommodation and visas.

We offer two courses, the number of lessons in each of which allows you to apply for a language course visa or a student visa that includes a language course.

These are the morning intensive course with 25 teaching hours per week and the afternoon intensive course with 20 teaching hours per week.
